Future of Imaging-Cameras, Image sensors

Integration of cameras in mobile phones has been seen as boom in market since a decade, we are here with most consumer market captured with camera solutions asking for microscopic like resolution, see through(medical), auto trigger zero start & shutter delay , high speed (burst, video, no blur) etc. Image sensors market has exponentially grown from 100000 units to 2000000 to 2500000 units in 2010/11.

The future of imaging with emerging technologies are in the field of medical imaging, entertainment, user interfaces, industrial vision, movie making, video conferencing  etc. In the field of medical imaging the technology seems to see its forecast with self evaluation of individual’s eye to determine abnormalities or need for care using hand held portable devices. More specific applications are in building security systems, robotics, medical imaging techniques etc, the need of the hour is to work with camera sensing such as human like performance, recognizing, finding objects, image search etc

But certainly there are questions so as how will the next generation cameras change the future ?  What else application can these type of cameras be used on, any guess ?

Imaging Cameras can be used in Machine Vision Applications.

Machine vision (MV) refers to both industrial and non-industrial applications where operational guidance is provided to equipment for the execution of functions based on the capture and processing of images. Basically, this is providing "sight" or "vision" to otherwise "blind" equipment. This greatly enhances the capabilities of the equipment, resulting in improved product quality, increased productivity and decreased costs.
