How do engineers use social media?

A recent study by Calgavin appears to show that 61% of engineers use social media for 'work related activities', with Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn proving the most popular sites/apps used (you may or may not know that element14 use all four of these). This study also lists the favourite types of content that engineers look for such videos, articles, webinars and images.
