Humble Book Bundle - Arduino & Raspberry Pi

In case you've never heard of it, there are still a few days to pick a Humble Book Bundle, stuffed with Arduino and Raspberry Pi books and magazines by Make.

 

It is a "pay what you want" model (with certain price levels to get all the books) and you decide where the money goes - the publisher, a charity of your choice and/or the Humble Bundle team.

 

Note 1 : only 5 days remaining.

Note 2: this is not the first (and probably even last) books electronics-related bundle they made.

    I haven't read any of them from a beginning to an end, but gone through the indexes and read any chapter that was promising. (I mainly use them as a reference manual / source of ideas.)

    I own most of the books from the previous bundles, so I'm still thinking about buying them again image

    Those books are targeted for broad audiences without prior experience in programming / electronics. That's why I would recommend them as a starting point for anyone who has just bought Raspberry Pi / Arduino and is not sure how the SW interacts with its HW. For example Make:Getting Started with Raspberry Pi and Make:Sensors should IMHO cover most of the questions that new owners of Raspberry Pi ask.

    The downside of buying the whole bundle might be that quite a lot of information is repeated through several books. However, with "pay what you want" model, you decide, how much is it worth to you.

    I guess an EE won't find inside anything that could surprise him/her image

  • Looks interesting, I hadn't realized there are Humble book offerings.  I have seen them for software, usually after they have expired.  :-)  So seeing this before it is gone is great!  Have you read any of the offerings ?
