Recent improvements to hydraulic fracturing technology, has made a revolution in the oil and gas industry. This new technology allows for the extraction of hydrocarbons in previousily inaccessible resource plays. It has given a welcome boost to the economy, creating millions of jobs worldwide. This method has come under scruitney recently for its environmental impact, one of which is the treatment and disposal of waste water after completion of frack. Engineers are currently hard at work to find cleaner and more efficient ways to deal with this waste water. One of these engineers is Tom Hayes, and his team at the University of Texas, trying to implement new technology for more effiicent treatment of this water.
