Hello there!
My name is Dancing Rabbit (not really, but it's what the kids call me) and I am running a summer program for kids teaching robotics and intro programming.
I use LEGO Mindstorms, Raspberry Pis and Arduinos in my program. I know just enough to be dangerous, but I am learning all the time
Our project (YEAH8 Arts and Motion) is in it's third year. The parents and kids love it!
Every year we open in a new place, every year I build a new computer lab and run the program and so far have had my work taken by the churches involved.
This year we hope to have our 501 (C) and be able to set up in a place of our own. In the mean time we are setting up in another church for the summer. Third time?
This year I am adding the Arduino to the program. So far interest has been high. As we give our stuff to the kids at the end of the program (last year it was the RPis)
This year it will be the Arduino. And because we gave away all our RPis last year, all new RPi 2 for the summer!
Knowing that I need to know more I have signed up for a Python class this summer. Teaching and learning! This will be a busy summer!
