Introduction

Hi everyone,

i want to introduce our robotic project. We are a little group of three students who want to get familiar with technologies like steppers, mobile GPS, GSM, sensors (for measuring e.g. humidity, light, temperature, acceleration and so on) and power management. This project should help us to learn the stuff we need for our graduation robotic school project.

Currently we are in the planning part to set some targets we want to reach in this project and try to think about the main function of our robot we want to engineer.

We hope you enjoy reeding about our project. image

    Measure pollution:

    • gasses CO, CO2, H2S, CH4 (leaking methane from homes, dumping grounds, and such), propane from passing vehicles, and any other pollutant gas.
    • Small particles less than 10 micron (mostly coming from exhaust fumes of cars, and from their tyres; also from construction sites - the housing bubble on grabbed land, which mostly caused the global recession of minds and soals)
    • Acidity of rain water (H2CO4 - the result of CO2 dissolving in water, H2SO4, and other acids).
    • Ambient light (it correlates with pollution).
    • Presence of heavy metals (e.g. Hg, Pb)
    • Nuclear radiation. Some of it is electromagnetic in nature - gamma rays.
As a watch out for contamination by intent or accident.
May be useful for forensic investigations of attacks, or accidents and tracking the source of radiation. So, data should be logged for 2 years at least.
    • Electromagnetic radiation.
Mostly from networks of mobile phones. But may also come from any other equipment, like battery chargers, lights, microwave ovens.

None of this information about pollution is made available to the public. Most comes from unscrupulous companies, who claim that their equipment is safe.

maybe something for counting the rain hours?

PS.: why should we start a new group for this and declare it as an open project for everyone who wants to develop on such a weather station network image?
