I bought the first microbit when it was available worldwide because I wanted to support a movement that would ignite the curiosity of young people, just like how I first became curious about technology because of the Sinclair ZX80 my father was tinkering around with.
It had a somewhat capable chip: the nRF52811 but it wasn't as capable as its bigger sibling the nRF52832
Now, the new microbit has the nRF52833 and it has additional peripherals as well: a touch sensor, and a buzzer (likely due to the increased gpio count of the nRF52833 compared to the nRF52811)
