Looking for a simple mini panel meter for your next project. In this project I have added my take to the CX101 panel meter.
This particular panel meter is reliable and of reasonable quality. Best of all is it’s low cost. It is a 3 1/2 digit meter with decent accuracy for the price.
There are a number of flavors for this meter and choice is application dependant. The CX101A & CX101B are designed to be used with an independent (isolated) ground. The signal being measured does not share a common ground with the supply voltage for the panel meter.
The model CX101BG is a 5 Volt version that can used with a common ground.
The CX101 series consists of three versions:
- CX101B is a 5V version
- CX101A is a 9V Version
- CX101BG is a 5 V version which can use a common ground
For my purposes I have chosen the common ground version, the CX101BG.
To make this little guy useful, some additional circuitry must be added. As The “guts” of the measurement circuit, I have added a power supply and a range selection switch.
