I obtained my first six-legged walking robot in Jan'19 as a post-Christmas present to myself.
Walking Robots #2 : Tobbie is Completed
which I tried (and failed) to convert to Arduino control, mostly due to my own mistakes, I have thought about returning to it to get it going but I never have. I have now seen a number of alternatives to Tobbie (£24) that are much cheaper so I have purchased some to see how they compare. Unfortunately from the advertised web pages it was not possible to tell if they were both full function; one was (the blue one (£13)) and one wasn't (the orange one (£8)).
I still have two more (under £7) coming, hopefully before Christmas, but now I have seen the limited function one (orange) I am having doubts that they will be what I was looking for. Still, no matter what, I will still have five walking (sort of) six legged robots. I think the price of the full function ones might have come down to a level where I might be able to realise my dream of a swarm of walking robots. All I will need to do is to design a suitable controller.
