need a bit of help with new project

Need some assistance with a piface digital board attached to Raspberry pi

what I am looking to do is connect a flow sensor to it and try and write a program where I can dispatch a set volume of oil into a container.

I have the motor relay pump etc all working, but need help with the programing in python.

I am a newbe on python and programing is not my strong point.

any quick start guide will be much appreciated

         I would not worry too much about python at first. Just try to get the logic in a flowchart form. Here are the elements you may use:

    1. Step 1 -> Step 2 etc.
    2. if Condition 1 then Step 1 else Step 2
    3. loop over Item in Items_List doing Steps
    4. call DoItNow (Parm 1, Parm 2, etc.)
    5. Exit Condition Code
    6. Input ()
    7. Print "I am starting out"

    This should allow 95% of anything you may want to do. I can help you when you get stuck. BTW, I program for a living including python.
