The fireside chat is not a new concept to American politics. It is based on the fireside chats of the 32nd President, Franklin D. Roosevelt, had back in the 1930’s. Where Roosevelt used the radio, The United States’ 44th President, Barak Obama, had the power of Google+ to bring in a panel of guests, including Ladyada, owner of Adafruit Industries, into the conversation about education, technology and other issues on the minds of the American people.
Watch below as Ladyada asks the President about patent reform, having a programming language as an educational requirement and President Obama’s daughter’s interest in Science and Math. Great job representing the Science and Technology community Ladyada!
