Raspberry Pi 3 - Boot up attempt

I have managed to prepare my 4GB SD card with official SDFormatter for the NOOB...

It's working great... from this stage, I have concluded that the Rpi 3 board I have received is working properly. I have tested the mouse and on-board wifi, both are working great...

The problem I have right now is, not enough space in SD card, so i have to use 8GB SD. I am sure there will be a 8GB card lying around in my house. I don't own USB keyboard, what I am having is, keyboard with PS/2 connector. So, I have to put on a hold with the raspberry hands-on until I buy the USB keyboard.

    If I were you, I would not get an 8GB MicroSD card; go for a larger one, say, 16-32GB.  As time goes on, you will probably be adding more software packages and related data.  This would give you room for growth.

     

    Regarding the PS/2 keyboard, I've used a PS/2-USB adapter in the past for a keyboard.  It worked fine for me.  Maybe you could take your RPi3 and your PS/2 keyboard to a friendly supplier like Fry's (DFW area in Texas) or the equivalent for a test before purchasing if you find that an adapter would be less expensive.

    You have a point there about bigger size SD card as I am planning bigger projects in Rpi 3 (at least trying to do image).

     

    Regrading PS/2 to USB converter adaptor, i have to check here with peripheral retails and suppliers (I am living in South India). In eBay.in it's kinda half the price of USB keyboard with shipping charge and I am not sure how it will work...So i have to go out and check it out in person like you said.
