RC Car Hack #1 - Stripping

The beginning

"Most of the world stands still due to the Covid-19 pandemic and most of us are staying at home since a few weeks. Let's hope the pandemic will be under control and will be eradicated soon."

There happened to be an RC car with me which I bought sometime back just to play during my free time or when I get bored. Yah!! I still have that kid in me. So I was thinking should I just play with it the whole day long?? Shouldn't I be doing something more meaningful with it?? And then it happened all of a sudden and I made up my mind for something I would feel amazing at the end. HACK IT !!

Many years ago, I had taken a really simple car (corded controller), from Radio Shack, and built a autonomous vehicle (very rudimentary, dual whisker switches front and back, small microprocessor). I was thinking that something like this chassis would be an excellent platform for an updated attempt.

I am planning to replace the onboard electronics fully with my own implementation based on Arduino / Rpi and a custom-built Android app for control and monitor. Have in mind to incorporate a variety of features, but will focus on a step by step approach. If you have some suggestions, please do let me know

Nice little R/C car. Do you have more info on the manufacturer/model number? Are you looking to replace the electronics completely, or hack in some additional functionality?
