"ReMade" screened at Maker Faire Detroit

Howdy -

I had the pleasure of attending the 2nd annual Maker Faire Detroit this past weekend. It was a blast, and I witnessed many amazing creations including nanoparticle mind control, a plasma tweeter speaker and a cute little mini laser cutter.

I was also very excited to see the ElectroMagnate team talk about their documentary project, "ReMade: The Rebirth of the Maker Movement". They screened a captivating clip during their talk which delves into the transformation that is taking place in the Detroit area:

That sounds fantastic! Something that might help are the hackerspace "design patterns" that emerged out the original German spaces and have been guiding the boom of new spaces around the world:

HI Drew,

Good overview, I wish I could have attended, but the video has restarted by interest in creating a local maker space in my basement. I could really use some help in making things and I have a great deal of the stuff people need to get started. Plus my wife is also interested. So we will keep you posted if we can actually get one started.
