Designed up a development board few weeks ago called RR PIC 18F DEV Mini V1.0. Assembled and tested all the ports, accessories attached and all seems to work well!
Targeted mostly at 18F range PIC MCU's by Microchip Technology Inc. https://www.microchip.com/. Also will work with some 16F 28/40 pin count MCU's such as the PIC16F886 / PIC16F887.
Supports on board dual OLED, 3 digit 7 Seg multiplexed display, rotary encoders, SPI, I2C and PORTS A through to E for the 40 pin MCU's.
Optional external crystal possible along with trimmer for time base sensitive applications such a frequency counter.
First two initial projects in mind were…
#1: To write software to control a CB radio PLL. To create appropriate channel n-Codes. Mostly with the MC145106 parallel and MC145170 serial type PLL’s using my PLL adapter boards already prepared for either MB8719 or uPD2824 chassic CB radios.
#2: Also looking at recreating the encoding from a infra red remote used to control disco/party lights for DJ/band entertainment. Seems to have a 97 bit type of code that is super imposed over a carrier signal / pulse running at 17us at logic high and 9us logic 0.
