You can do better than this - lets have some specs and useful content in the blog - I clicked on the link and it just takes me to a boring "click some more page" !! Do you remember (that's anyone who reads…

You didn't quite manage a bio but it's close - is Malvern PA in the US ? As promised in return. not one but two dog pictures: Amber lives in South West Scotland and tries to find time for a bit of precision…

Yes that is correct - Malvern, Pennsylvania, USA. Historically this town is were the Bulk Metal Foil technology has been developed and is still where the official headquarters of Vishay Intertechnology and Vishay Precision Group are. R. Zuratt is one of our veteran engineers with more than 40 years of experience with the Vishay Foil Resistors.

My best regards to Amber - she is a fine thing. Nice to see she is enjoying the Scottish summer I presume (?).

    Cheers.

    DG

Amber lives in South West Scotland and tries to find time for a bit of precision calibration on her breaks in between sleeps and bouts of stick rescuing.

These have been created by our enthusiastic Application Engineer Richard Zuratt from Malvern, PA, as a tailored made solution for a specific calibration requirement.

This Shunt Calibration kit is based on the Z201 Bulk Metal Foil resistor (through hole configuration). The link is pointing to the datasheet of this resistor and to some further technical notes related.

Richard has many interesting videos and particularly this one here shows another example of Shunt Calibration with the BMF resistors:

Do you remember (that's anyone who reads this not just VPG) when the Hewlett Packard magazine used to feature little bios of all the engineers involved a the design of a new product - those were the days !

I'm not even going to think about these resistors until I know the name and principle hobbies of whoever made those little blocks and wrote the numbers on them.

    MK

(PS - if you post the bios I'll post a picture of my dog.)
