Sigfox sensor node

Hi !

This is my first blog post on Element14 community.

I'm french, and I discovered electronic few years ago. I try to share what I'm discovering every day with my blog.

I recently created a Sigfox node. This node gets some informations from another electronic board and broadcast them.

Sigfox is an IoT network, that began in France but is now available in a lot of countries.

It is based on an ATtiny2313A and the Wisol SFM10R1 on a breakout board (BRKWS01).

I will try to share other projects on this forum.

Concerning Sigfox, I have some difficulties to have a good signal indoor, even near Paris.

Really? I would have thought that Paris would have even better reception than what I have here. Angers seems to be the birthplace of SigFox, but still, Paris is Paris! Maybe the high density of buildings... Are there locations where you cannot get a signal out? I just told my students that it works almost everywhere...

I tried near Paris, and indoor, if I'm not near a window, it doesn't get a signal.
But it's even difficult to get a good 3G connexion indoor, as I tried in new buildings with good isolation and concrete walls.
