Technology, especially electronic technology and even more specifically, digital electronic technology, is literally growing at an explosive rate.
There may be detractors who say, "well this is not such a good thing". Maybe we can leave that debate for another time.
Technology drives education and education feeds technology. The relationship is not always as harmonious as it could be though.
The task of preparing people to develop and sustain technology is not an easy one and is not widely understood. Where there is interaction
between industry, that produces and uses technology, and education, that provides people with the knowledge and understanding to do this,
the expectations on both sides are not always well matched.
Having said this, I believe that the shortcomings are being addressed by 'necessity' the 'mother of invention' and from my perspective, the
partnership is coming along quite well.
