The Great Micro:bit Giveaway… Learning!

Back at home, we are having regular power outages with all of the rain.   I am learning all that I can about the Micro:bit.  The educational resources are  exciting and quite supportive.  Teachers and moms that I am trying to explain the fabulousness of this tech, all think it is too hard, and think they could never learn.  That is so not true.  It is quite easy and fun.  If I, a 50+ year old Grandmother with no technology education can do it, anyone can.

My husband, as well, is very interested in learning all that he can.  He is much more advanced in technology than I am, so when he jumped on board my project, I was thrilled and a bit relieved!   I had been already working for a few years with Scratch and Scratch Jr., looking forward to the January launch of Scratch 3.0.  When I found that Scratch 3.0 will be working with the micro:bit, I was even more thrilled. Currently, I am learning the components and endless potential of the micro:bit, and working to get them paired with Scratch.

So many projects, so many resources, so much potential!!

We introduced the "bit" to the older kids on the reservation.  Next blog is about that, and future projects....

Keep up the good work.  It is truly amazing that you are able to introduce technology to these students.  It is something that could new opportunities to their lives.
