The aim of my project is to manage with EASE my Off-Grid Power source, that I use to provide power to my house; a 16th Century (parts date back to Roman times) Spanish Watermill, on the edge of the Cazorlla National Park.
I need to do this as I am disabled and partially sighted after an accident and find both remebering to do things and actively naigating round 24 batteries, solar panels and a wind turbine, becoming slightly awkward.
The core will revolve around an Arduino Mega acting as a Web Server and Master Controller with a few minor duties such as Power House managment via flame, smoke, gas sensors and Cabinet Management of fans, coolers etc by temperature sensors and relays.
Each bank of 12 x 2VDC 1200aH Hawker Lead Antimony Solid Plate, Electrolyte Batteries will be managed by an Arduino UNO in client mode.
Reporting SOC & SOH via,
Temperature sensor
Voltage sensor
Current sensor
Specific Gravity sensor ????
for each battery, in the 2 banks (24 batteries)
Additionally a further Arduino UNO will be incorporated to report on Weather and Atmospheric conditions.
Reporting will be via Web Pages, a Front Panel 4 Line LCD & Keypad, and via PPP to an SMSGW.
The SMSGW is an additional project again based around an Arduino which will be connected to my home network, to allow all attached devices to utilise the services.
I am very new to Arduino but believe this is the way to go.
I am open to suggestions, offers of help, guidance and even criticism and aim to keep this up to date as much as possible.
Thankd and kind regards,
