Tiny Issue with KEMET's Pyro Sensor module

12 Oct 2019

UPDATE 17 Oct, 2019 :-
After accepting their mistake they told me that they will correct the order and ship me the mentioned cable.

Later, I received their email - This part does not come with the cable. What you received is correct.

Official answer on the link is - Because maker IO is not an official documentation some of the information at times can be incorrect. We have double checked with Kemets site and there is no cable included.

So, If you are going to buy KEMET's SS-430 Sensor Module, Do not forget to purchase JST connector cable with it.

I look forward to seeing some measurements from this sensor. I have used the GridEye sensor and it will be useful to compare with this. Dubbie

Hey mudz . The best source of connectors I can find are these at https://www.molex.com/molex/products/group?key=micro_connectors&channel=products . They have a large catalog so I am sure you can find what…

I'm assuming this will be slightly more difficult to achieve with this sensor. The sensor uses a crystal that's sensitive to changes in infrared. The downside being that when you move your hand over the sensor, the crystal will saturate. It would be possible with an extremely quick snapshot of a 'peak' value, but it won't be accurate if you move your hand back and forth. Its primarily meant for human 'sensing'.

Sparkfun Electronics has a breakout board for these modules that is part of their Qwiic ecosystem, so cables are more easily available: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/15804

    These are custom by https://schmartboard.com/2mm-to-0-1-inch-header-converter-923-0001-01/.

I am guessing Amazon does not stock.
