    We're probably being watched even closer now.  I'm thinking of "Anne Elk's" comment at Daily Kos:

    Watching the dominant species self-destruct on planet after planet may be God's version of Breaking Bad.

    Ever see Dark Star (1974)?  There are probably beings out there who are equally bored to death and watching planets like Earth destroy themselves is their only form of entertainment.

    Loved Dark Star, it is a true SciFi classic.

     

    Few movies provided such true insight into people and their relationship with machines.
