As we live in these ever changing times of financial downturns, technology and electronics continues to advance at an ever increasing rate. We all sit at work or at home worrying about some deadline or how to tackle the next task on our lists (you might not admit it but we all have one). But I would like everyone to take a minute to try and remember why we do what we do either at work or as a hobby.
Personally my inspiration is more of a what than a who, so I’m kind of breaking my own rules here but I love working on the web because of the growth of PC and the internet in the early 90’s. I spent many many afternoons of my youth playing pc games such as monkey island and Doom but even before that I was given a ZX Spectrum where unlike now when you want a new game you head off to a major retailer and spend £40, you got a book of code to program the game straight into the console. After many hours of coding you realise you missed a comma from somewhere and you have to start again. Once you finally got the code right you finally get to play a game that’s harder than getting the ship out of that bottle at my grandparent’s house. But I still persevered time and again because it was new and exciting.
So there you have it my inspiration for my career and most hobbies is the ZX Spectrum not quite the Neil Armstrong I was thinking of when I started this post.
Who or what is your inspiration for your career or interest in electronics?
