Sadly, I was unable to attend this weekend's World Maker Faire.  You can find some pictures here:

I thought the kids were great!  My boys tear apart stuff all the time.  I love it.  Of course, then I have a lot of "components that have yet to reach their full potential" laying around, waiting for just that.

Maybe I'll get there next time.  They really are a lot of fun.

    Hi Maggie,

Sorry you didn't get to the faire, but then, neither did I.  However, thanks to your post, I could see the excitement in the kids who got their hands into tearing appart old electronics.  I think I saw a number of future engineers gleefully ripping things apart.  Reminds me of my younger days. image

I will keep my eye out for future events, they look like a lot of fun and definitely creative.  There is no such thing as junk, there are only left over components that have yet to reach their full potential!

    Thanks

    DAB

Thanks for posting.  I was bummed to miss it too after attending the inaugural one last year.  But from the tweets and pics I've seen, it looks like it was another amazing Maker Faire and the New York Hall of Science is a perfect venue! image
