Hi All,
I was at the library yesterday and picked up a copy of "Exploring Beaglebone" by Derek Malloy ISBN 978-1-118-93512-5, from Wiley Press. Now I do not have a BB, but was interested in its capability.
The book is very well written and full of very useful detail on both the BB, its software and on how to interface hardware to the board.
He covers setup, basic Linux commands, and optional software you can activate on the system. The description of how to interface hardware is excellent with discussions on the internal pull up and pull down resistors inside the Sitara processor unit and he provides several examples on simple circuits you can use for digital and analog devices.
He covers all of the various serial interfaces available on the BB and provides suggestions on how to setup and debug these interfaces.
I would recommend this book for anyone who has or is interested in the BB, but also for people who are interested in connecting hardware to single board computers.
It is very easy to follow and very well written.
