Eagle 6.4 Altium import

Problemchild

Potentially a very useful function is the Altium project import feature.

In fact if I can import some Assets done in Altium I can probably reduce my project time in half.

How ever when I come to use it it fails to import these items. As ay one succesfully used this feature?

Cheers

Good question I never got a reply directly for this.

However I did request the file format from XMOS for a design and found  it to be an output format  that was to be sent to the PCB manuafcturers.

Can't remember much right off hand but I'll look into it again over the week

Not a single reply in a year?!?!!

I currently have an Altium license, but I grow weary of their overpriced annual subscriptions, which provide nothing I need.

Now I'm considering switching to Eagle, but I fear the pain of converting old designs.  Can I import existing Altium files successfully?  Many of my Altium designs are created with the most recent AD 14, but I have archives going all the way back to Protel 99 (released in 1999).  My AD 14 will continue to work without subscription renewals, so I should be able to import and update old designs to AD 14 format when needed.

So... Can Eagle successfully import Altium AD 14 projects and other files?

    Thanks,

    Jim
