And people wonder why geeks are weird.
Imagine, playing with a C64 while you have a girl in your bed!
You have to question the guys decision making ability.

By the way, I still have my Commodore 2001 PET computer down in my basement. It currently isn't working. It has a very bad habit of the ram chips shorting out the 7805 regulators.

Apparently it can take 4164 memories so that may be better than what's already in there... I thought it had 4116s or something which took a -12v spply as well

The C64 used 4164, the PET used 8Kx1 chips. I think they were 2118, but I wouldn't swear to that.
You might be right about the 4116's, but again, I would have to look.

In the early days, static ram was preferred to dynamic ram, just to keep the chip count/expense down.

I see that you can use a 4164 in a 4116 slot as long as you remove the+12,-5Volt supplies (not -12V DOH...must be nearly 30 years since I used them )

Yea, I know what you mean. A couple of decades and you can't remember details about the things you used to play with all day long.
The pace of technology had overwhelmed both my memory and recall ability.
Still, the fact that I remember any of it today is a small wonder.

Yes, I have noticed a nice friendly exchange of humor.

It is such a nice change from some of the negative thoughts we had several months ago.
I know I always try to keep things fun, but then someone gives me that opportunity to be bad.

What can I say, fun is where you find it and if you are easily amused, then the world is absolutely hilarious.
