Had this in my "to  watch queue" for a while figured that this well put together video on Pre-war Power RF would

be interesting to folks who wanted to see what "plumbing" in the day really looked like and how it pushed the envelope

of technology at the time and really even now for most of us!

    Thanks, I think it must be a process that is taking place all over the world because the UK Gov has closed down sites such as Rugby.

    I can only assume that technology has moved on and the cost f running such establishments has led to the demise of many large antenna farm!

  • I still remember the huge site near Cincinnati, Ohio where they had the Voice of America transmitter.

     

    The Antenna array was a thing to behold.

     

    Unfortunately, they have torn down most of the site, so I do not know if they still have any of the huge transmitters around.

     

    The site would have made a wonderful museum for large scale RF.
