Last night I powered up all of my Keysight/Agilent gear(four instruments in total then started BenchVue Three of the four instruments were detected by BenchVue which up until this Road Test was normal My 53230A53230A counter though connected to the PC was not supported within BenchVue until the recent release of application BV0011ABV0011A So now that I have loaded the Pro version of BV0011ABV0011A with support for the 53230A53230A I expected to see all four instruments appear within the BenchVue screen The 53230A53230A did appear along with the 33622A33622A waveform generator and the 34461A34461A multimeter The missing instrument was the N9322CN9322C Spectrum Analyzer
The last time I powered up the N9322CN9322C it was detected in BenchVue That was a month or so ago before a recent BenchVue upgrade and installation of the Pro licenses associated with this Road Test
With my mindset adjusted for troubleshooting I checked the data cables running between the N9322CN9322C and the computer I have set up LAN and USB connections on every instrument on my bench that supports these data transport methods mostly so I can experiment with both methods The USB and LAN connections were solidly in place at both ends Next I cycled power on the N9322CN9322C to no effect I went into manual instruemtn installation mode in BenchVue and added the static IP address for the N9322CN9322C Still no luck in getting BenchVue to see the Spectrum Analyzer
That is as far as I got last night My next steps are to try replacement cables cut out the USB and Ethernet hubs check for updated IO libraries and if none of those work put a call into Keysight to see if they have any suggestions There could be new Tek VISA vs Keysight VISA conflicts I suppose There is a possibility that the IO interface on the N9322CN9322C has malfunctioned though it would have to have been a random failure as the instrument has been powered down for over a month If the IO hardware is pooched then I will likely have to proceed with a test of the other three instruments for the Road Test as I doubt there will be time(and money available to repair the N9322CN9322C in time
Is there anything obvious I have missed?
Troubleshooting suggestions are welcome.
