The Efinix FPGA board has a connector for an SPI interface OLED display driven by the GD32103 processor.
I’ve made some little experimental display controller boards which use this processor and can run the same code as the FPGA board processor. The board can work an OLED display bolted directly to it as shown but also has two connectors with extra signals that will work with OLED or LCD with backlight type displays.
Part of the motiovation for doing this board was to try out some ideas for replacing moving coil meters in ancient HP instruments.
This demo shows that it can update quite fast and incidentally shows how you can have an 800 division pseudo analogue amplitude display on a display only 128 pixels wide.
The camera video capture doesn't interact too well with the display refresh, it looks better in real life !
