New Tool Day Knipex Mini Bolt Cutter

Cuts my CAT6 like butter. 

I got It a great price at my network hardware distributor, It was a return so I got it at cost. Still more than a few bucks not quite 50 bucks but it's worth every penny.  Only 8" long so not too big. Just right. I have been a Knipex fan since I got my Alligator V-Jaw Tongue and Groove Plier Serrated gas pliers when I imagewas changing my water heater, I picked up 12". I later snagged the 7.5" for electronics, never again will I use adjustable or gas pliers,  while at Granger. (btw everything there is OVERPRICED.. ~~ Cris

  • It's annoying how almost all Knipex tools are quite desirable. Some more recommendations to add to the list : )

    For garden wire, and other cables up to 7 mm thick, Knipex 95 61 190 is great. It can also crimp metal ferrules for capping stranded wire ends. I keep it in the shed since it's quite handy for fencing mesh and typical garden wire needs.

    For hard wires, Knipex 73 02 160 is pretty good, up to 12 mm diameter cables, but it's a compact tool, just 165 mm long. They claim 2.2mm thick steel wire apparently:

    One general tool I use a lot is Knipex 13 96 200, which cannot do steel wire, but is more like a swiss-army-knife concept for electricians, it's got several capabilities along the jaws. It springs wide open, so it's always quick to use (there is a thumb-lock to keep the jaws in a partially-closed position if you're only working with smaller targets, or for storing it).
