Ok, So I have been trying in vain to remove the baked-on lettering on the front panel of my donor cassette player for my Hiagra Pre-Amp that I am still working on. I have tried everything under the sun. Then yesterday I was in a nut and bolt house and they recommended "Sprayon Heavy Duty Paint Remover SP615". This is what they claim:
"SP615 is a fast-acting remover that cuts through all paint finishes (air-dry or baked). It also removes urethanes, varnishes, and shellacs. Its catalyst action penetrates through gasket cement, decals, sealants, adhesives, tape residue, and carbon deposits."
So, this is what caught my eye "BAKED". Ok, for $15.00 I'll give it a try. Well blow me down I sprayed it on, waited for about 1 minute, and then used a stainless steel scratcher to wipe off the paint, using hot water will generate a very bad smell so rinse it off with cold water. Then use your favorite cleaner and spray it down and rinse with hot water. FINS!!
