NexGen: The Lab: Wire-Wrap Bonanza!!

30 Aug 2022

imageI was at one of the local electronic stores where I have bought some Wire-Wrap® parts in the past and I wondered what if any they had left. I ended up with a boatload of 16-pin (Samtec1) & 18-pin(Augat 14F3318) & 20-pin sockets (Augat 14F33202).  Plus two large spools of wire Marmon Aerospace 128SOFU1422-BRN & 128SOFU1422-GRN both are Silver Plated + Oxygen Free Kynar; plus I have an unopened spool in the box of black as well.  I think I paid a grand total of $20.00 for all of it. Sunglasses I expected to pay about $100.00 for the treasure. I guess I have a lifetime supply now!

NOTES:

  1. Info from Samtec.
  2. Info from Newark Electronics Catalog #106
  3. Wire-Wrap® is  currently a trademark of Cooper Tools, originally Gardner Denver

    Thank you for the offer!

I've got a random mix of wires I need to get through currently, before adding any more : ( Otherwise I would definitely have taken you up on the offer, since that looks like 30 AWG wire, which is excellent for prototyping.

Most of these spools were bought ages ago, and now prices have shot up.

I thought I had wire-wrap stock, but that is over the top! Augat and Samtec make good stuff.
