Like much of North America, we've had some unexpected weather - in our case it gave us a warm summer-like fall, which is supposed to end tomorrow.
So we went up the mountain to hike the trails (Paradise Meadows on Mt Washington, BC) one last time before the rain and cold is expected to come in.
I had almost forgotten I had this backpack that element14 sent me a handful of years ago - it was perfect for today: compact and light, but big enough to also fit a few extra jackets and toques in case the weather got chilly. It did get quite nippy towards the end of it, but we were pretty much back to the car by then.
Such an amazing place out there, and the locals are super friendly!
They love the backpack too, especially when there's a handful of peanuts on it
These are whisky jacks (aka gray jays). They will eat right out of your hand too.
So cute too how they'll sit on your shoe and keep you company while you eat your lunch, just in case you happen to have a bit more trail-mix to spare.
I forgot my element14 water bottle for this hike. Maybe next time, unless by then I'll need a thermos of hot tea instead of cold water!
Thanks again to the element14 team, for supporting so many of my hobbies, including this one!
