Further to the Kitty Cam , I now have it all tucked away into one convenient tin (a Thule tin that came with my roof rack).
One big advantage of this setup is that none of the lights show, making it much less suspicious looking to any critter that might stop by.
I had to use elastics because the wires that plug onto the RPi pins have connectors that are just a little too tall to allow the lid to snap shut.
That contraption at the top is a makeshift USB extender to get the WiFi dongle outside of the metal case. It's an M-M adapter connected to a F-F adapter - just enough to extend it out of the case.
