This is the story of the world, isn't it? Lack of communication being the root of all problems...
To sum up what I've done so far...
I installed all the software and drivers into a VirtualBox virtual machine running Windows XP, using the easy install with the set of buttons. (This is on a Mac).
I plugged in the board, using the usb port on the underside, and things are looking great - the demo works, lights are flashing. cool toy.
In VirtualBox, I assigned the usb device to the WindowsXP VM. babink babink, the hardware is recognized. The drivers show up in the device manager, and all seems happy.
I started CodeWarrior and opened the sample, and everything builds properly. Then I clicked on the debug button, which starts the "true-time simulator and real-time debugger", which then tells me that there is "no communication with the hardware." and to "Please try to connect before loading an executable file".
I tried rebooting, and I checked that the hardware shows up in the list. I'm running similar setups for my Texas Instruments boards (MSP430 as well as LMS3748).
Dang. I fear I may have to run this on the dedicated Windows machine instead, which puts a damper on the mobility of this project.
Anyways, it's getting late so I will try to figure this out tomorrow.
