Wii Fit, 52 Weeks Straight - a pandemic side effect

Normally, I travel away from home 6-8 times a year.  Almost exactly a year ago, I returned home from Hawaii on the same day that my mother's assisted living facility on Oahu went into lockdown due to the pandemic.  I haven't traveled to Hawaii or anywhere else since then.  I'm hoping to be able to get back to Hawaii to visit her again after I get vaccinated.  Care facilities in Hawaii have just started to allow limited visitation.

A side effect of not traveling is that I've used my Wii Fit daily for 52 straight weeks without missing a day.  Something that I've never done before.  And probably never will do again, hopefully...   But an event so momentous that I thought I should capture it.  I also started using my balance board 4391 days ago.  I'm impressed that is still working after all this time.

The other beneficial effect of not traveling or eating out in restaurants is that I've been able to keep my weight fairly constant without any effort.

I guess like the reduction in air pollution there have been some positive effects from this horrible pandemic.  Unfortunately, nothing to counter its terrible cost.  But, I've learned that much of life is not under our control and we need to appreciate the good that we receive or achieve.  I think that's why I continue to do Element14 projects image.

    Hi Ralph,

Congratulations on maintaining that commitment to your exercise regime - mine is supposed to be 30 minutes on the exercise bike 3 days a week. Sadly, it doesn't take much to put me off!!

I've also managed to keep my weight fairly constant, but my BMI is marginally into the obese sector of the chart image.

I hope you get to see your mother soon image. I'm actually seeing mine on Tuesday for the first time since Christmas day.

    Neil
