Line Spacing between Links in a Blog

jc2048
jc2048 over 3 years ago

As you know, I no longer have a personal blog. When the change occurred, I realised that I'd need a new blog index in a place where I could edit it, so I cut-and-pasted the contents of the old one into a new blog in the 'Members > Blog' area. The result was such a mess that I gave up and just left it.

I've now found the energy to do something about it and I've been through and edited it all so that it is all consistent again.

/members-area/b/blog/posts/jc2048-blog-index-new-version

However, after using the editor I'm now left with exaggerated line spacing like this:

How do I adjust the line spacing to be something a bit more reasonable? Is there a setting in the editor that I'm missing?

    It's the same editor as on the TI engineering forum.

    You need to edit the HTML.
    By default the editor puts everything in paragraphs. Writing a line and hitting enter? You're starting a new paragraph. That's the <p> tag.
    Wanting content on a new line rather than in a new paragraph? That's the line break, <br /> tag. You have to edit this in the HTML manually by viewing the source:

    Then edit the code:

    <p>
      <span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 150%;">
        <strong>Electronic Art</strong>
      </span>
    </p>
    <p>
      <span style="color: #0000ff; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: inherit;">
        <a class="jive-link-blog-small" style="color: #0000ff;" href="/challenges-projects/design-challenges/picasso/b/blog/posts/9-pieces-of-pi-slice-1-the-long-way-round">9 Pieces of Pi: Slice 1: The Long Way Round</a>
      </span>
      <br />
      <span style="color: #0000ff; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: inherit;">
        <a class="jive-link-blog-small" style="color: #0000ff;" href="/challenges-projects/design-challenges/picasso/b/blog/posts/9-pieces-of-pi-slice-2-manifesto-for-art-electronic">9 Pieces of Pi: Slice 2: Manifesto for Art Electronic</a>
      </span>
    </p>

    Here I've separated two lines by a <br /> instead of each line being encapsulated within <p></p> tags.

    This should get rid of the paragraph spacing.

    Er, ok, I'll have a go at editing the HTML. Thanks for the quick response.

    Too late. I've edited it now...
    ...but I'll certainly remember for the future.

    How did you know that?
