Good evening.
I purchased my RPi 4 8GB on eBay on 12th April 2021. I used is for astronomy purposes together with Astroberry distro. My RPi controlled an MKS Gen-L v2.1 custom board, Canon 6D, ZWO ASI 120MM mini camera, GPS u-blox receiver and SanDisk 128GB pendrive - nothing unusual. U use powered TP-Link 7-port USB 3.0 hub as well.
Unfortunately, about two weeks ago an onboard USB controller began to behave weird: cameras were connecting and disconnecting interchangeably, loosing connection every several seconds. Everything else was working OK.
I reinstalled the Astroberry system twice - the same effect. Then I installed the Astroberry on my previous RPi 3B+ and everything works well, but much slower.
I am electronic engineering technician, presently studying engineering (advanced manufacturing), so I am able to recognise improper work of my stuff.
Firstly I contacted the eBay seller and sent similar message to them. They responded, that it's over 30 days from the purchase day, so I should contact the manufacturer. Thus I hereby do it now, as they wrote, that the “Element 14” company is the manufacturer of the RPis.
As only 10 months passed from the purchase (less than 1 year of the warranty passed), I am asking for replacement. I am ready to provide e-mails as a proof of the purchase. Please let me know, how to pass through the replacement procedure.
Best regards,
