Pasting images to editor encodes them as base64 instead of upload.

Since of the last update blog editor start behave differently and when pasting images it encodes them as inlined base64 instead of uploading. This makes hard to post blog because for example  Blog #15: Experimenting with Two MAX25405 Kits   blog content is now about 4 MiB of data. Because images are encoded as blog content It also hang when loading page.

Can you please check on that and fix the editor?

    Could you consider adding the image as a zip file and attaching it here so that we can look at replicating the issue? It could be related to server problems, or it could be something else.

    Also what are the exact steps you're taking to produce this behaviour and which web browser are you using?

    Thank you for reply. Today I for example fixed images in one of my blogs. Images were following: https://misaz.cz/Public/files/e14_max25405_pacman_images.zip

    Images in this ZIP were used in my recently posted blog:  Blog #14: Gesture Controlled Pacman

    In my 14th blog I fixed images today and in 15th blog I let them encoded as base64 for purposes of resolving this issue. Later I will fix them also.

    I use Firefox and faulty procedure is that Copy (Ctrl + C) Image in Windows File Explorer and Paste (Ctrl + V) it in the text editor. About month ago this procedure worked well. It took some time before immage appear but then it was properly uploaded. Now image is pasted almost immediately, but it is not uploaded, rather it is encoded to the content.

    I've opened a support ticket with our developers to see if they can replicate this behaviour, I personally wouldn't have expected copying and pasting a file from Windows File Explorer to work because as a container I'd expect it to treat that more as a binary file rather than copying and pasting from say, an image editor - as you say there's been some behaviour change, possibly either at an operating system level or with the site platform, I don't know - I've asked one of the developer testers to check it out.

    After some initial testing we've been able to replicate the following from the images you've provided:

    - Dragging and Dropping images into content doesn't work.

    - Copying and Pasting images into content doesn't work if you're doing it directly from a file in File Explorer in Windows

    - Copying and Pasting images into content doesn't work if you're using Mozilla FireFox

    - Copying and Pasting images into content does work if you're using Google Chrome

    This has also been replicated in a 'vanilla' environment where we haven't made customisations as we have done on the element14 Community.

    The developers are working out the next steps with this, which may mean escalating it to our platform vendor Verint.

    This scenario works for me on Windows 11, from WIndows File Explorer into an active edit Window on Chrome.

    Thanks, that is helpful. Currently we're using Windows 10, and the behaviour being different on Windows 11 wasn't anticipated.

    For the benefit of the dev' team,  , would you be able to screencapture what exactly's happening? Perhaps with OBS or similar.
