The site keeps logging me out.

I have noticed this a lot lately.  I am reading a blog and I decide to leave a comment.  When I attempt to post the comment I get a error message that states that I do not have permission.  When I go back to my profile, it asks me to login.  When I go back to the blog and try again, it says I do not have permission.   I noticed this problem again this morning when attempting to comment on @aspork42 blog ( /challenges-projects/project14/hacktheholidays/b/blog/posts/holiday-lights-to-brighten-spirits  ) (note: mention also seems to not be working)

    Hi Gene,

    I see something slightly different, but I'm wondering if it is just a different indicator of the same problem. In my case, I have to clear browsing data and then re-log in, and then I can reply. It could be worth giving that a go. 

    Basically, I find that I have to go into Chrome Settings and select Privacy&Security->Clear Browsing Data for 7 days, and then re-logging in. If I don't, then I don't get the Reply or Editor toolbar - although I don't see a permissions message. I have to do this very frequently (several times a day).

    I'm not sure if it happens when the servers have to reboot but after the forum has been down and comes back, I can see pages, but there is no "Comment" button (even though I am logged in). In these cases I do what   indicates - clear browsing data and that usually brings the Comment button back. It also forces a new login.

    Same on Safari on both MacOS, iOS and iPadOS.  The latter two are a real PITA as you have to clear ALL cookies and data, not just those for E14.  Been like this since the site was released.

    This is one of the reasons I’ve been commenting less.  I usually browse e14 on an iPad and don’t want to clear the browser which means I have to go log onto my PC in another part of the house to post a comment.

    Yep, me too.  One of the plus sides to the site being almost unusable is the servers are being rebooted frequently, so I’ve found that you don;t have to wait so long for it to start working again.  In other words, deleting cache/cookies is a nuclear option if you absolutely, positively, must comment right now.

    I agree it is a PITA!! Can't comment , then Clear the Browser cookies or use incognito mode with Chrome. Correct It's been like this since the upgrade. Just had to do it 2 days ago!! It's a PITA!!!!

    Until we get the servers under control, I wonder if this option will help.

    If you press F12 (in chrome at least) and go to the 'network' tab:

    Try the 'disable cache' option.

    Hi!

    We put in a significant fix recently that I hope may well have mitigated this issue. Are you still getting this?

    And you should never have to clear cookies to fix an issue! (But I do admit that should I ever have a problem accessing anything on a website, the first thing I try is to open the page in incognito and see if the problem goes away)

    Yes, I was logged out several times yesterday and also the day before.  These were new posts and they were all repeatable.

    Looking through my Points Activity log, I see that it registered a login on Jan 17, 5:17PM (it seems like that is local time).  I don't absolutely remember what I was attempting to do, but it seems like I tried and retried with the same effect.
