Clicking on notifications icon causes screen to scroll to bottom

I have noticed this for awhile now. I don't know if it is a known problem (apologies if it is) or if anyone else has a similar issue. I'm using a LinuxOS laptop and Firefox web browser.

Basically, if I am on a forum or blog post and then click on the notifications icon at top right of screen then the screen scrolls to the bottom.

    I am using Mozilla Firefox 112.0.2 on ubuntu Linux Mint 20.2

    I've also got round to testing on Google Chrome browser and it works fine, so yes this is a Firefox issue, for some reason.

    If at least in Firefox you can capture information from the browser console that would be helpful if there're any errors highlighted there.

    We're unable to replicate this, at least with windows and firefox nightly. 

    If you look at the URL you're using to view that forum thread, there are numbers at the end, what happens if you remove those and go directly to the link and then click on notifications? I suspect you won't be force scrolled to the bottom (it's as though it queued up the action of browsing to the comment).

    The dev' team have got back to me and asked if you could test this on Verint's own Community site, you can register for an account here: https://community.telligent.com/user/createuser if you want to do that, and see if you can replicate the behaviour. We have a better chance of raising platform support requests if we can exclude our website being the problem, and show that it's an issue on Verint's 'default' website instance too.

    I'm not convinced it's reasonable that we ask members to register for Verint's own website to cross-check their platform, but I'm offering it as a potential option as we're not sure what else to try in this case.

    I did not understand what numbers you were referring to. The URL was the following:

    The website address in your original video is:

     /products/raspberry-pi/f/forum/52852/rpi-zerow---boot-time/208626 

    This has a link to a comment at the end, /208626 so your web browser is for some reason trying to scroll you down to that comment when you're clicking the notification lightning icon.

    Apparently gmail email is not good enough for them. Grrr. Confounded I really do not like it when web-site developers/owners use these arbitrary rules, thinking that somehow a non gmail email address is supposed to be better for them.

    Ah ok. I've just tried and I'm not sure if something has just been done this morning, but the problem seems to be resolved no matter if numbers included or not. Tried various pages and all works fine.

    No more scrolling Thumbsup

    That's really strange, we haven't done anything different as far as I'm aware.
