I have tried to post a question to "internet-of-things" and it appears to not complete. I left it for 3+ hours and

still have the 3 dots to the right of the post button cycling. Tried several times over 2 days.

I am new to element14 and this is my first post attempt. What am i missing?

Regards,

Roy

    Hi rweaver ,

    I'm sorry to hear you're having problems posting to the site, I've checked the audit logs and I wasn't able to find any clues, but to better search I need some details from you such as the exact time, timezone, and date when you tried to post.

    Are you still having this problem? If you are, can you also let me know what browser you're using and if you have any extensions installed?

    Thanks.

    Hello cstanton,

    Posted agian using firefox at 6:06 am 18-Jul Pacific time with same 3 dots to right of post button cycling.
    Browser is firefox version 151.0.3 (64 bit) with no extensions. Plugins are what came installed by default,
    OpenH264 Video Codec provided by Cisco Systems, Inc. and  Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc.

    Also tried another post using edge at 6:27 am 18-Jul Pacific time. Edge Version 150.0.4078.65 (Official build) (64-bit).
    Same result.

    I tried to reply to you here with my post content and received error: "An error occurred. Please try again or contact your administrator"
    Must be something within my content. Here is a stripped down version of the content:

    Why do sample Yocto maaxboard-osm93 builds keep failing?

    Builds are failing for Yocto at imx-boot_1.0.bb:do_install. My intended test target hardware is MaaXBoard OSM93.
    Loading the "Pre-Built Linux Image (Full)" and "BootLoader u-boot Image" from tria-technologies.com works but is
    missing nft and some other libs required.

    Following section "YOCTO BUILD PROCESS USING DOCKER" in document MaaXBoard-OSM93-Yocto-Development-Guide-6.6.52.pdf
    Clean install on new virtual Ubuntu 24.04 host. Also tried on laptop Ubuntu 24.04 host with same results.
    Only modified docker run command to: docker run -d -it --name build_server --restart unless-stopped -v /home/roy/buildfiles:/share ubuntu:20.04
    ...imx-yocto-bsp bitbake -D avnet-image-minimal

    Build Configuration:
    BB_VERSION           = "2.8.0"
    BUILD_SYS            = "x86_64-linux"
    NATIVELSBSTRING      = "ubuntu-20.04"
    TARGET_SYS           = "aarch64-poky-linux"
    MACHINE              = "maaxboard-osm93"
    DISTRO               = "fsl-imx-xwayland"
    DISTRO_VERSION       = "6.6-scarthgap"
    TUNE_FEATURES        = "aarch64 armv8a crc crypto"
    TARGET_FPU           = ""
    ...
    Summary: 1 task failed:
      /home/roy/imx-yocto-bsp/sources/meta-imx/meta-imx-bsp/recipes-bsp/imx-mkimage/imx-boot_1.0.bb:do_install

    Same failed message result with bitbake avnet-image-full

    From full or minimal builds I did notice a partial filename "-flash_singleboot" in folder:
    ...imx-yocto-bsp/maaxboard-osm93/build/tmp/work/maaxboard_osm93-poky-linux/imx-boot/1.0/git$ ls
    -flash_singleboot  Makefile  Readme.imx95         iMX8DXL  iMX8QM  iMX8ULP  iMX93  mkimage_imx8  scripts
    LICENSE            README    SCR-imx-mkimage.txt  iMX8M    iMX8QX  iMX91    iMX95  patches       src

    Thank you

    Hi rweaver

    I've got to the bottom of the problem here. It's us, not you!

    We have code in place that protects the website against common website attacks. One of those attacks involves a file that is the same name as one of the files you are posting about in your question, and you've been hit with a false positive.

    We usually have an exclusion in for posting content to the site against false positives, that exclusion has stopped working. There's a new version that we seem to have picked up automatically and it doesn't work the same, so I need to rework the exclusion.

    In the immediate term, I've added your IP address to a whitelist so you can post to the site. However, that solution will only work for you, and only from the location you posted this post to support.

    I have a meeting with our vendor tomorrow, and I will check on what I think the longer term solution will be for everyone else, and get that rolled out soon.

    TL;DR it's a problem with our website defense code, I will get that fixed, but I've put in a short term fix for just you so you can go post immediately.
