Resolved: Website Access affected by SSL Certificate Expiry

Over the weekend an SSL certificate that handles parts of the Community website expired.

This means parts of the Community site are affected and you may experience or see error messages, such as when attempting to download an eBook from the Community.

This should be resolved by the end of the day on the 25th of July.

  • This is affecting mainly:

    - eBooks

    - Quizzes / Essentials Courses

    - Roadtests

    - Design Challenges

    Where we use a third party form embed.

  • This issue has now been resolved. My sincerest apologies to our members for this outage and the failure on my part as the head of the Development/Platform team for not communicating the issue to you in a more proactive manner. No excuses - we blew it on this one. We are learning how to manage some elements of the servers/infrastructure since migrating to the cloud hat we didn't have responsibiity for previously as a Dev team. We're all set up with certificate monitoring now so that we won't miss upcoming expirations in the future, which will give a longer lead time to get issues with deploying the certificates (which is what happened this time) resolved before it's a crisis.
