Unintended Site Downtime: 4th of September

The element14 Community development team and site administrators are investigating a site outage that occurred over the weekend.

While usually we point the finger at the backend platform, vendor, or otherwise, it appears this outage was caused by a purposeful high amount of traffic from various sources.

As an insight into this, you can see where the page views per second skyrocketed to the element14 Community in this graph:

This is particularly unusual behavior, and it appears this may be happening periodically which is causing the website issues.

The appropriate teams are investigating on how to protect against this in future.

Thanks to our server admin that responded to the outage on Sunday and brought the site back online.
