Dear element14 Community members,
This is a follow up to my previous post about the ongoing site issues here on element14. The Community dev team has been hard at work with our vendor and partners to try to rectify these issues. We deployed a release on Dec 21st that had shown promising results in our Staging environment under load, and which we hoped would resolve or at least go a long way to resolving the issues we've been seeing. While it did help (although you may not be able to tell), it obviously did not resolve the problems.
We are currently testing additional changes with the goal of deploying a patch release hopefully as early as next week. The last thing I want to do is put in untested changes that could make things worse! (as hard as that may be to imagine) In the meantime, our DevOps folks and I have been taking turns live monitoring the site all day, including holidays and weekend, and doing our best to keep it up and running with varying levels of success. I know that effort doesn't matter - only results do - and the results have NOT been enough so far. I only mention that so you know that we are in this with you, and are as frustrated by and anxious to resolve these issues as you are to have them fixed.
This is not the element14 Community we want to provide to you, it's not up to our expectations and we know it is not up to your expectations based on the last thirteen years that element14 Community has existed. We are doing everything in our power to rectify these problems and get back to the level of quality, stability and support we all expect from any website with which we interact.
I apologize again for the ongoing difficulties and significant inconvenience. I look forward to being able to post that we have finally resolved these issues soon, and hope you will be able to then rely on element14 for all things electronics and design-related again.
Sincerely,
Christy Zurcher - Director of Platform and Development, element14/Premier Farnell
