Q: Why does the Community website platform need upgrading from time to time?
A: The reasons can vary considerably. Mostly it's down to security of the site and ensuring that it is under a suitable support contract from the provider of the platform. While we have our own development team working to customise the site, they work closely with the vendor for the website platform to ensure that it's the best it can be and to get support from them when there is core functionality that needs improving.
The site also needs to be upgraded from time to time to deploy new features, bug fixes and to ensure it's running properly, different environments require different approaches.
