Happy Valentine's Day - Vote for your #PerfectPair!

Recently, you shared stories with us about how you found your passion and your interest in engineering and technology, and that special moment when “you were bit by the bug.” Although you’ve heard it from us before, it bears repeating: your stories were amazing, and we’re grateful you took the time to share your experiences with us!

Today, let’s focus on a different kind of romance. Something a little more… metal-minded. Although these electronics components don’t have a heart, or a soul, or the ability to feel and reciprocate emotions, we love them all the same. In celebration of Valentine’s Day, we’ve put together some of our #PerfectPairs, tools of the trade that hold a special place in our heart. What do you think? Are these couples a match made in electronic heaven?  Or doomed to some automated divorce process?

Raspberry Pi 3 + Beaglebone Black Wireless

Let’s start the list of #PerfectPairs with some familiar faces, old flames of the element14 community. With Raspberry Pi 3 and BeagleBone Wireless, you can never have too much of a good thing.

This “Likes Attract” pair is an ode to couples that found love in solidarity, and discovered happiness in things in common. It goes to show that even if you’re a single-board computer, you don’t have to go at it alone.

Trinket + Codebug

Sometimes, it’s the little things in life.

This “Cute Couple” is an homage to all the small stuff we love about engineering, and the knowledge that sometimes big things have the tiniest beginnings. With the Trinket and CodeBug, we’re celebrating the start of every new romance, and all the things that come together to make it possible.

Aren’t they adorable together? Makes you just want to pinch them by their little LED indicators.

Logi-Bone 2 + Power Monitor

As any good engineer knows – it’s what’s on the inside that counts. So while the Logi-Bone 2 and Power Monitor might not be the “sexiest” of couples, this homely pairing has a lot of heart.  Sometimes you need a solid foundation to make sure love truly blossoms, and it’s always good to have a partner who’s willing to watch your back (and your power consumption).

So this #PerfectPair is dedicated to all those engineers out there who know that beauty is only skin deep, and fall in love with the heart and soul of their projects.

HapTouch Booster Pack + Bluetooth Audio

What are the kids saying these days? #RelationshipGoals? Well, nothing says a 21st century romance like the hip pairing we have featured here. If love is a battlefield, these two help keep you moving and grooving to every “up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a, select, start.”

Here’s to the perfect pair that keeps us young at heart.

Of course, love comes in all shapes, sizes, components and configurations.

If these #PerfectPairs weren’t enough to get your heart racing, share some of your ideas below.

There was the CodeBug + Raspberry Pi relationship at one time: http://www.codebug.org.uk/learn/activity/62/raspberry-pi-controlled-codebug-with-i2c/ Looks like those two could "snuggle up" pretty closely…
