I think a lot of us (engineers) have been practicing social distancing for many years. I like people, but being an introvert, I also prefer to self isolate whenever possible.

For me the virus has been a minimal event. The biggest impact is that the Senior Center is closed, so I am not getting as much exercise and I cannot do my monthly military history discussions. I have been…

I'd not heard of that. It looks interesting - a bit Heston Blumenthal.

We did homemade pizzas recently - in a proper wood-fired oven image. They were not as good as usual because we couldn't get proper (double zero) pizza flour.

'Pizza Flour' seems abundant almost everywhere, and makes for a reasonably good substitute, if that helps image

My son and I are forced to ration baking because we can't get flour !

We can get local eggs, hens or ducks.

I've noticed a huge (and welcome) reduction both junk mail and junk emails.

I'm being forced to bake more. That's been the main difference, buying bread has been pretty much impossible, along with eggs, fortunately not milk so much.

So a supply of flour, sodium bicarbonate, yeast and salt/sugar has meant that I've been baking more (I enjoy it anyway). It even made me start looking into owning my own work-top mill to use on wheat grain, surprisingly this is more of a thing in America than it is in England.

I've gained a little time back, I'm not driving to the office, fortunately we can work from home! but that also means I still have the routine of working image so I haven't gained /that/ much time.

I did use it as an excuse to create a project or two though, which you've probably seen me post to the site. The electricity monitor project has helped me to claim the cost back from the UK government image

    Good point.

Looking at it objectively, I have a tendency to "avoid" people too, because I find interaction to be stressful.

Now I have a convenient excuse.

I've noticed some supplies being in shorter supply, or just taking longer to be shipped. Luckily, I had a couple old netbooks laying around from a dumpster dive, I fixed one of those up for my 6 yr old to use. the small keyboard fits her perfectly.
