How do you prefer your robots to move?

Realistically robots haven't quite hit the ideal bipedal movement, so how do you prefer your robotic drones to move for your projects?

I prefer my mobile robots to not fall over, not fall off tables, not drive into walls and break and not disappear off into the distance. Dubbie

Looks a great film. I like the bins as well. The second mobile robot I ever built/created was going to be tele-remote operation. Sadly it was never completed and every now and then I tinker with the idea again, but I still haven't finished one that worked properly.

You must have some pretty big pedal bins there ?

I seem to recall back in the 80s/90's you could buy a pre-built circular 'propulsion unit' that you could then use as a mobile base to build the rest of your robot onto. I suspect that is what has been done here with a cylinder dropped over it to tidy it up.

I think some even came with a switchable remote control so that you could leave it in autonomous user-defined 'patrol mode' or flip it over into manual mode allowing you to remotely rescue it when it got stuck in a corner.

You could probably create a Minion themed robot in this style out of a smaller pedal bin ?

Dave,

I do not remember the circular bases, but they would have been good. They would still be good now. I was thinking of a smaller pedal bin, as I might be upgrading to a larger one in the kitchen anyway.
